Majestic Asiatic elephants, from newborns to towering giants, the orphanage is home to them all. A once coconut estate, cleared to accommodated orphaned elephants from the jungles, there are now over 60 jumbos and counting, known to be cared for in this respite. Established in 1975, the orphanage is located northwest of Kegalle city, in Pinnawala.
