Dambulla

The city renowned for its ‘Rock or Cave Temple’, Dambulla is also considered by pilgrims as a holy place. The Temple complex marks historic paintings and statues of Buddha. Located 148 km northeast of Colombo, the town is a transition and distribution center for the country’s vegetable distribution. This spread can be witnessed by nightfall, lit up by veggie vendors all along the main roads.
