Established in 1877, during the British colonial period, the National Museum presents many artifacts from Sri Lanka’s ancient past. Paintings, a priceless collection of traditional devil masks, a 9th century Buddha statue and Bodhisattva sandals, are only a few of the many brilliant paraphernalia from the past that’s found here.
